Purpose

This program provides special recognition for outstanding service to ASSP at the Society level. Special individual work accomplishments at the Society level deserve recognition, both to reward these special efforts, as well as encourage others to establish higher personal goals in Society activity.

Eligibility

All Society Council, Committee and task force members, Practice Specialty and Common Interest group officers, and elected officers are eligible, except the President, President-Elect, Senior Vice President and Past Presidents.

Procedure

Submitting Petition

Petitions for this award can be submitted by:

  1. Any member of the Society, recommending an eligible ASSP member (see eligibility requirements above) for consideration.
  2. Any eligible member wishing to submit themselves for consideration.

Nomination petitions are to be short and concise. Petitions shall contain information regarding the candidate’s contributions to the Society, including special individual project achievement, leadership activities, and/or other information.

Evidence should be provided which indicates that services and activities led to measurable, significant, positive and recognizable accomplishments, or caused significant development or improvement of a Society activity or unit. Only one of these criteria need to be met. These activities shall have occurred in the previous 12-month period prior to March. Any activities listed that took place more than 12 months ago will not be considered.

Nominating petitions shall be submitted via this form no later than March 31st to permit review by the Executive Committee. Any questions can be directed to awards@assp.org.
