The Council on Community Operations (COCO) is an evolution of the Council on Practices and Standards (COPS). The Council is responsible for policies and operating procedures for the practice specialty and common interest group member communities.
We are seeking applicants to serve on the reimagined council, which will be made up of 7-9 people appointed by the vice president, council on community operations and approved by the Board of Directors. Terms for inaugural members will be staggered in 1-, 2-, and 3-year terms, beginning July 1, 2025.
Individuals serving in a 1- or 2- year term will be eligible to serve a second 3-year term.
Eligibility:
- Must be a member of ASSP in good standing
- Must have an understanding of ASSP practice specialty and common interest group community operations and Society structure, strategic direction and operating documents
- May not concurrently serve on a practice specialty or common interest group advisory committee

Note: The Council's evolution is based on a recommendation brought forward by the 2023-24 Council on Practices and Standards. The council's name and specific operating procedures are pending Board approval in June.
